Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus that is widespread worldwide. Cats infected with the virus have a greatly increased risk of developing tumors such as lymphoma. The virus may cause abnormalities in blood clotting or other blood disorders such as aplastic/non-aplastic anemia. It can also cause a breakdown of the immune system, leading to hemolytic anemia, glomerulonephritis, and other diseases.
The product uses fluorescence immunochromatography to quantify FeLV in cat serum/plasma. Basic principle: T and C lines are drawn on the nitrocellulose membrane, and antibody A, which specifically recognizes FeLV antigen, is drawn on the T line; another fluorescent nanomaterial labeled antibody B, which specifically recognizes FeLV, is sprayed on the binding pad; FeLV in the sample firstly binds to the nanomaterial-labeled antibody B to form a complex and then chromatographs upward, and the complex and the antibody A on the T line bind to form a sandwich structure, and the nanomaterial emits a fluorescence signal when excited light is irradiated. When exposed to the excitation light, the nanomaterials emit a fluorescent signal, the intensity of which is positively correlated with the concentration of FeLV in the sample. Therefore, a reliable and efficient test is a positive guide for prevention and treatment.
