Detection Purpose

Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus that is widespread throughout the world. Cats infected with the virus have a greatly increased risk of developing tumors such as lymphoma; the virus may cause abnormalities in blood clotting or other blood disorders such as aplastic/non-aplastic anemia; and it can cause the immune system to break down, leading to hemolytic anemia, glomerulonephritis, and other diseases. Feline HIV is a disease caused by feline AIDS. It is related in structure and nucleotide sequence to the HIV virus that causes AIDS in humans. It also often produces clinical signs of immunodeficiency similar to those of human AIDS, but HIV in cats is not transmitted to humans. Therefore, reliable and effective testing is a positive guide to prevention and treatment.

Detection Principle

This product is designed for quantitatively analyzing FeLV/FIV in cat serum/plasma using fluorescence immunochromatography. Basic principle: T and C lines are drawn on the nitrocellulose membrane, and the T line is marked with antibody A which specifically recognizes FeLV/FIV antigen, and the binding pad is sprayed with another fluorescent nanomaterial labeled antibody B which specifically recognizes FeLV/FIV, FeLV/FIV in the sample firstly combines with the nanomaterial labeled antibody B to form a complex, and then chromatography is performed upward, and the complex combines with antibody a of the T line to create a sandwich structure, when the excitation light is illuminated, the nanomaterial emits a fluorescent signal, and the signal intensity corresponds to that of the sample. The nanomaterials emit a fluorescent signal when exposed to excitation light, and the intensity of the signal is positively correlated with the concentration of FeLV/FIV in the sample.
