Detection Purpose
T4 is a major product of thyroid secretion and an integral part of the integrity of the hypothalamic-anterior pituitary-thyroid regulatory system. It increases basal metabolic rate and plays an important role in the development of all body cells.T4 is stored in thyroid follicles along with thyroglobulin. It is secreted and released under the regulation of TSH. More than 99% of T4 in serum is in the form of bound to other proteins.
A test of total T4 in a blood sample can determine if your thyroid is functioning abnormally.
Detection principle
This product is a fluorescent immunochromatographic assay for the quantitative analysis of fTT4 in serum/plasma. Basic principle: T and C lines are drawn on the nitrocellulose membrane, the T line is encapsulated with an antibody a that specifically recognizes the fTT4 antigen, and another fluorescent nanomaterial-labeled antibody b that specifically recognizes the fTT4 is sprayed on the binding pad, the fTT4 in the sample firstly binds with the nanomaterial-labeled antibody b to form a complex, and then chromatographs upward, and the complex competes with the T line antigen a, and can not be captured; on the contrary, when there is no fTT4 in the sample, the antibody b binds with antigen a. On the contrary, when there is no fTT4 in the sample, the antibody b binds to the antigen a. When the excitation light is irradiated, the nanomaterial emits a fluorescent signal, and the strength of the signal is inversely proportional to the concentration of fTT4 in the sample.
