Feline Serum Amyloid A ( fSAA) is an acute-phase protein of cats. It can be used as a sensitive index of cat systemic inflammation and a tissue-damage marker. During cat inflammation, the fSAA level in blood can increase rapidly, and with the elimination of the inflammation, the level will quickly drop to normal. Although fSAA is a non-specific reaction protein, it still has a good guiding role in the diagnosing of subclinical inflammation, detecting disease status and severity, and obsering treatment effect and process, especially in the rational use of antibiotics.
This product utilizes fluorescence immunochromatography to quantitatively detect the fSAA content in whole blood and serum/plasma. The basic principle is as follows: T and C lines are respectively marked on the nitrocellulose membrane. The T line is coated with specific antibody a to recognizes fSAA antigen. The binding pad is sprayed with another fluorescent nanomaterial-labeled antibody b that specifically recognizes fSAA. The fSAA in the sample first combines with the nanomaterial-labeled antibody b to form a complex. Then, through chromatography, the complex moves upward to binds to T line, forming the sandwich structure. When the test strip is irradiated by excitation light, the nanomaterial emits a fluorescent signal, and the intensity of this signal is positively correlated with the concentration of fSAA in the sample.
