【Intro】
FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus); It is an infectious disease that causes immunosuppression in cats and belongs to the genus lentivirus of the retrovirus family. Its form, physical and biochemical characteristics are similar to those of human immunodeficiency virus, which can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome symptoms, but the antigenicity of the two is different, and it is not contagious to humans.

【clinical signs and symptoms】
The symptoms of FIV infection are similar to those of human HIV infection, which will first enter the acute phase in clinical practice, and then enter the asymptomatic phase with the virus, and finally become acquired immune deficiency syndrome, resulting in various diseases caused by secondary infection.
FIV infection enters an acute phase about four weeks later, at which point persistent fever, neutropenia, and general lymphadenopathy can be seen clinically. But older cats may have mild or no symptoms at all. After a few weeks, the lymph node symptoms disappear and enter the asymptomatic viral phase, with no clinical symptoms of FIV infection. This asymptomatic period may last from several months to more than one year, and then it will enter the acquired immune deficiency syndrome period.

【 Heal 】
Treating cats with FIV, like treating AIDS in humans, requires attention to a number of diseases that cause secondary infections. Whether the effect of treatment is good or not depends on the degree of immunosuppression caused by FIV, and the effect of treatment is better in the early stage. By the late stage of infection, due to the destruction of the immune system in the body, the concurrent disease can almost only be controlled with high doses of drugs, and special attention should be paid to the side effects of drugs when treating FIV-positive cats. Broad-acting antibiotics may be administered to control bacterial reinfection, and steroid administration may also help relieve systemic symptoms.

【Testing purpose】
Feline HIV (FIV) is a disease caused by feline AIDS. In terms of structure and nucleotide sequence, it is related to the HIV virus that causes AIDS in humans. It also frequently produces clinical signs of immunodeficiency similar to human AIDS, but FIV in cats is not transmitted to humans. Therefore, reliable and effective detection plays a positive guiding role in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

【 Detection principle 】
Products were quantified for FIV Ab content in cat serum/plasma using fluorescence immunochromatography. Rationale: The nitrocellulose membrane is marked with T and C lines, respectively, and the T line is marked with a secondary antibody that specifically recognizes cat IgG. The binding pad was sprayed with antigens labeled with fluorescent nanomaterials capable of specifically recognizing FIV Ab. The FIV Ab in the sample first binds to the antigen labeled with the nano-material to form a complex, and then it precipitates to the upper layer. The complex is captured by the T-line antibody. When the excitation light is irradiated, the nano-material emits a fluorescence signal, and the signal intensity is positively correlated with the FIV Ab concentration in the sample.
